Turkish Higher Education System
The Turkish Higher Education System consists of universities, institutes, and higher vocational schools. It is overseen by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which ensures quality and standards. Programs typically last four years for bachelor's degrees, two years for master's degrees, and three to four years for doctoral degrees.
Admission to universities is primarily based on the Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı (YKS), a national entrance exam. The system offers a wide range of fields, including engineering, humanities, and social sciences, catering to diverse academic interests and career paths for students across Turkey.
