Turkish Football League
The Turkish Football League, officially known as the Süper Lig, is the top professional football division in Turkey. Established in 1959, it features 18 teams competing annually for the championship title. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the TFF First League, the second tier of Turkish football.
Matches are typically held from August to May, with each team playing 34 games in a round-robin format. The league is known for its passionate fan base and intense rivalries, particularly the matches between Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş, which are among the most famous in Turkish sports.
