Turkic identity
Turkic identity refers to the shared cultural, linguistic, and historical characteristics of the Turkic peoples, who primarily inhabit regions in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Siberia. This identity is rooted in the Turkic languages, which belong to the larger Altaic language family, and includes groups such as the Turkmen, Uzbeks, Kazaks, and Azerbaijanis.
Historically, Turkic identity has been shaped by various empires and migrations, including the Gokturk Khaganate and the Ottoman Empire. Today, it encompasses a diverse range of traditions, customs, and beliefs, reflecting the unique experiences of different Turkic communities while maintaining a sense of shared heritage.
