Turboshaft
A turboshaft is a type of gas turbine engine designed to produce shaft power rather than thrust. It converts the energy from burning fuel into mechanical energy, which can be used to drive helicopters, ships, and other machinery. Turboshaft engines are known for their efficiency and reliability, making them ideal for applications where weight and power output are critical.
These engines typically consist of a compressor, combustion chamber, and turbine. The compressor draws in air, compresses it, and sends it to the combustion chamber, where fuel is added and ignited. The resulting hot gases then pass through the turbine, which spins and generates power for the output shaft.
