Turandot
Turandot is an opera composed by Giacomo Puccini, first performed in 1926. Set in ancient China, it tells the story of a cold princess named Turandot who challenges her suitors to solve three riddles. If they fail, they face execution.
The opera explores themes of love, power, and sacrifice. The character Calaf, a prince, falls in love with Turandot and bravely attempts to win her heart by answering the riddles. The famous aria "Nessun dorma" is sung by Calaf as he expresses his determination to succeed and win Turandot's love.
