Tupou II
Tupou II was the King of Tonga from 1893 until his death in 1918. He was born on July 16, 1875, and was the son of Tupou I, the first king of modern Tonga. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize the kingdom and strengthen its sovereignty amid colonial pressures.
