Tumansky
Tumansky refers to a family of Soviet aircraft engines designed by the engineer Vladimir Tumansky. These engines were primarily used in military aircraft during the mid-20th century, contributing to the performance of various fighter jets and bombers.
The most notable engine in this family is the Tumansky RD-500, which was a reverse-engineered version of the British Rolls-Royce Nene engine. The RD-500 played a significant role in the development of Soviet aviation technology, helping to power several key aircraft, including the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15.
