Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided
Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) is a type of anti-tank missile system designed for precision targeting. The missile is launched from a tube and is guided to its target using optical tracking, which allows the operator to visually follow the missile's flight path. This method enhances accuracy, especially against moving targets.
Once launched, the missile is connected to the operator via a thin wire, which transmits guidance commands. This wire-guided system enables real-time adjustments during flight, ensuring that the missile can be steered towards its intended target, increasing the likelihood of a successful hit.
