Tu-4
The Tu-4 is a Soviet strategic bomber that was developed in the late 1940s. It is a reverse-engineered version of the American B-29 Superfortress, which the Soviets captured during World War II. The Tu-4 was designed to carry out long-range bombing missions and could deliver both conventional and nuclear payloads.
First flown in 1947, the Tu-4 entered service in 1950 and played a significant role in the Soviet Air Force during the Cold War. With a wingspan of 141 feet and a maximum speed of around 600 miles per hour, it was capable of reaching targets across Europe and Asia. The aircraft was eventually phased out in favor of more advanced bombers.
