Tsien Hsue-shen
Tsien Hsue-shen was a prominent Chinese scientist and engineer, known for his significant contributions to aerospace engineering and rocket technology. Born on December 11, 1911, in Hangzhou, China, he studied at MIT and later worked with the California Institute of Technology on various projects, including the development of jet propulsion.
In the 1950s, Tsien returned to China, where he played a crucial role in establishing the country's space program. He was instrumental in the development of China's first ballistic missiles and satellite launch vehicles, helping to advance China's capabilities in space exploration and technology. Tsien passed away on October 31, 2009.
