Truvada
Truvada is a prescription medication used to prevent and treat HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). It contains two active ingredients, tenofovir and emtricitabine, which work by inhibiting the virus's ability to replicate in the body. When taken consistently, Truvada can significantly reduce the risk of contracting HIV in high-risk populations.
In addition to its preventive use, Truvada is also part of a treatment regimen for individuals already living with HIV. It is typically taken once daily and is most effective when combined with other antiretroviral medications. Regular medical check-ups are essential for monitoring health and managing any potential side effects.
