Trochanteric Bursitis
Trochanteric Bursitis is an inflammation of the bursa located near the greater trochanter of the femur, which is the bony prominence on the outer thigh. This condition often causes pain on the outer side of the hip and can result from repetitive activities, injury, or prolonged pressure on the hip.
Symptoms typically include localized pain, tenderness, and swelling, which may worsen with activities like walking, climbing stairs, or lying on the affected side. Treatment often involves rest, ice application, anti-inflammatory medications, and physical therapy to improve strength and flexibility in the hip area.
