Triomphant-class
The Triomphant-class is a class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines operated by the French Navy. Designed for strategic deterrence, these submarines are equipped with M51 intercontinental ballistic missiles, allowing them to carry out long-range nuclear strikes. The class includes four submarines: Le Triomphant, Le Téméraire, Le Vigilant, and Le Terrible.
Commissioned between 1997 and 2010, the Triomphant-class submarines feature advanced stealth technology and are capable of operating in various oceanic environments. They play a crucial role in France's nuclear deterrent strategy, ensuring the country's ability to respond to potential threats while maintaining a secure second-strike capability.
