Triomphant Class
The "Triomphant Class" refers to a class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines operated by the French Navy. These submarines are designed to carry and launch M51 intercontinental ballistic missiles, providing France with a strategic nuclear deterrent. The class consists of four submarines, which are named Le Triomphant, Le Téméraire, Le Vigilant, and Le Terrible.
Commissioned between 1997 and 2010, the Triomphant Class submarines are equipped with advanced stealth technology and modern navigation systems. They play a crucial role in France's defense strategy, ensuring the country's ability to respond to nuclear threats while maintaining a continuous at-sea deterrent posture.
