Trinity Alps Wilderness
The Trinity Alps Wilderness is a protected area located in northern California, covering approximately 525,000 acres. It is part of the Klamath National Forest and features rugged mountain terrain, deep canyons, and numerous lakes and rivers. The wilderness is known for its diverse ecosystems, including coniferous forests and alpine meadows, making it a habitat for various wildlife species.
Established in 1964, the Trinity Alps Wilderness offers numerous recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, and camping. Popular trails lead to stunning vistas, including the iconic Trinity Alps peaks. The area is also home to the Trinity River, which provides excellent opportunities for whitewater rafting and fishing.
