Tricastin
Tricastin is a nuclear power plant located in the southeastern part of France, near the town of Pierrelatte. It is one of the largest nuclear facilities in the country, consisting of four reactors that generate a significant portion of France's electricity. The plant is operated by the French state-owned company Électricité de France (EDF) and plays a crucial role in France's energy strategy, which relies heavily on nuclear power.
In addition to electricity generation, Tricastin is also involved in the production of nuclear fuel. The site includes facilities for uranium enrichment and the fabrication of fuel assemblies. The plant's operations are closely monitored to ensure safety and environmental protection, given the potential risks associated with nuclear energy.
