Treblinka extermination camp
Treblinka extermination camp was one of the most notorious Nazi death camps during the Holocaust. Located in occupied Poland, it operated from July 1942 until October 1943. The camp was primarily designed for the mass murder of Jews as part of the Final Solution, with an estimated 800,000 to 1,200,000 people killed there.
The camp was divided into two sections: the extermination area and the labor camp. Victims were often deceived into believing they were being resettled, only to be led to gas chambers. After the camp was closed, the Nazis attempted to erase its existence by dismantling buildings and burying evidence of the atrocities committed.
