Treaty of Tilsit
The Treaty of Tilsit was signed in July 1807 between the French Empire, led by Napoleon Bonaparte, and the Russian Empire, represented by Tsar Alexander I. This agreement followed the decisive battles of Friedland and marked a significant shift in European power dynamics, establishing a temporary peace between France and Russia.
The treaty resulted in territorial changes, with Prussia losing significant lands and becoming a satellite state of France. It also created a new alliance between France and Russia, which would later influence the course of European politics and conflicts in the following years.
