Trapp Family Singers
The Trapp Family Singers were a musical group formed by the Trapp family, originally from Austria. They gained fame in the 1930s for their performances of traditional Austrian folk music and hymns. The family consisted of Georg von Trapp, a retired naval officer, and his children, who began singing together after the death of their mother.
Their story inspired the popular musical and film The Sound of Music, which highlighted their escape from Nazi-occupied Austria. The family eventually settled in the United States, where they continued to perform and share their music, becoming a symbol of hope and resilience.
