Transmission System Operator
A Transmission System Operator (TSO) is an organization responsible for managing and operating the electricity transmission network. Their primary role is to ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of electricity from power plants to local distribution networks. TSOs monitor the flow of electricity, maintain grid stability, and coordinate maintenance activities to prevent outages.
In addition to managing the transmission network, TSOs also facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, into the grid. They work closely with power generators, regulatory authorities, and distribution system operators to ensure a balanced and secure electricity supply for consumers.
