Transkei
Transkei is a former bantustan in South Africa, located on the southeastern coast. It was established during the apartheid era as a designated area for the Xhosa people, who are one of the country's largest ethnic groups. Transkei was granted nominal independence in 1976, but this status was not recognized by most countries.
The region is known for its stunning landscapes, including rolling hills and beautiful coastlines along the Indian Ocean. Despite its natural beauty, Transkei faced significant economic challenges and underdevelopment. Today, it is part of the Eastern Cape province and remains a culturally rich area with a strong Xhosa heritage.
