Transient Global Amnesia
Transient Global Amnesia (TGA) is a temporary condition characterized by sudden, short-term memory loss. Individuals experiencing TGA cannot form new memories or recall recent events, but their identity and basic cognitive functions remain intact. The episode typically lasts for several hours, after which memory gradually returns to normal.
The exact cause of TGA is not well understood, but it may be triggered by physical or emotional stress, intense exercise, or sudden changes in temperature. While TGA is generally benign and resolves on its own, it is important to seek medical attention to rule out other serious conditions, such as stroke or seizures.
