Transcontinental & Western Air
Transcontinental & Western Air (TWA) was an American airline founded in 1925. It played a significant role in the development of commercial aviation, connecting major cities across the United States and internationally. TWA was known for its innovative services and was one of the first airlines to offer transcontinental flights.
In 1961, TWA merged with Trans World Airlines, becoming a major player in the airline industry. The airline was recognized for its iconic branding and was a pioneer in introducing jet aircraft to its fleet. TWA continued to operate until it was acquired by American Airlines in 2001.
