Traditional Korean Measurements
Traditional Korean measurements, known as Korean units of measurement, include various units for length, area, and volume. Common length units are the jeongbo, which is approximately 3.3 centimeters, and the ri, equivalent to about 393 meters. These measurements were historically used in daily life, agriculture, and construction.
In addition to length, traditional measurements also encompass area and volume. The pyeong is a unit of area, roughly equal to 3.3 square meters, often used to describe room sizes. For volume, the gyeong measures about 1.8 liters, commonly used for liquids and grains.
