Totnes Castle
Totnes Castle is a historic Norman castle located in the town of Totnes, Devon, England. Built in the late 11th century, it was constructed by Richard de Reviers as a defensive structure. The castle features a motte-and-bailey design, with a large earth mound (motte) and a surrounding courtyard (bailey).
Today, Totnes Castle is a scheduled ancient monument and a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can explore the castle's remains, including the impressive stone walls and the views from the top of the motte, which offer a panoramic view of the surrounding area and the River Dart.
