Torrents (Streams)
Torrents are a method of sharing files over the internet using a peer-to-peer (P2P) network. Instead of downloading a file from a single server, users download pieces of the file from multiple sources, which can speed up the process. This system relies on a BitTorrent protocol that allows users to upload and download simultaneously.
Streams, on the other hand, refer to the continuous transmission of audio or video content over the internet. Unlike torrents, streaming delivers content in real-time, allowing users to watch or listen without waiting for the entire file to download. Popular streaming services include Netflix and Spotify.
