Torch Relay
The Torch Relay is a ceremonial event that takes place before the start of the Olympic Games. It involves carrying a flame, lit from the sun at Olympia, Greece, across various locations to the host city. The relay symbolizes peace, unity, and friendship among nations.
During the relay, selected runners, known as torchbearers, pass the flame from one to another, often visiting significant landmarks. The journey culminates in the lighting of the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony, marking the official start of the games. This tradition has been a part of the Olympics since 1936.
