Topologists
Topologists are mathematicians who study the properties of space that are preserved under continuous transformations, such as stretching or bending, but not tearing or gluing. Their work focuses on understanding shapes and spaces in a more abstract way, often using concepts like open sets, closed sets, and homeomorphisms to explore the relationships between different geometric structures.
This field of mathematics, known as topology, has applications in various areas, including physics, computer science, and biology. Topologists investigate questions about connectivity, compactness, and continuity, helping to solve problems related to the structure of spaces and the behavior of functions defined on them.
