Tongva language
The Tongva language is the native language of the Tongva people, an Indigenous group from the Los Angeles area in California. It belongs to the Uto-Aztecan language family and was traditionally spoken by the Tongva community before the arrival of European settlers.
Today, the Tongva language is considered endangered, with efforts underway to revitalize it through educational programs and community initiatives. Language revitalization aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the Tongva people and promote their identity in contemporary society.
