Tomis
Tomis is an ancient city located on the coast of the Black Sea in present-day Romania. Founded by Greek colonists in the 6th century BC, it became an important center for trade and culture in the region. The city was known for its strategic location and was part of the Roman Empire.
Today, the ruins of Tomis can be explored in the modern city of Constanța. Archaeological findings include ancient walls, a theater, and various artifacts that reflect its rich history. Tomis is also associated with the famous Roman poet Ovid, who was exiled there in 8 AD.
