Tissue Scarring
Tissue scarring occurs when the body repairs itself after an injury, surgery, or inflammation. When the skin or other tissues are damaged, the body produces collagen to heal the area. This collagen forms a fibrous tissue, which is often different in texture and appearance from the surrounding healthy tissue.
Scars can vary in size, color, and texture, depending on factors like the severity of the injury and individual healing processes. Some scars may fade over time, while others can remain prominent. Treatments such as laser therapy, silicone sheets, and steroid injections can help improve the appearance of scars.
