Tiruchendur Murugan Temple
The Tiruchendur Murugan Temple is a prominent Hindu temple located in Tiruchendur, Tamil Nadu, India. Dedicated to Lord Murugan, the temple is situated on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, making it a unique pilgrimage site. It is one of the six abodes of Murugan, known as the Arupadai Veedu, and attracts thousands of devotees each year.
The temple's architecture features intricate carvings and a towering gopuram (gateway). It is believed to have been built in the 17th century, although its origins date back much earlier. The annual festival, known as Skanda Shashti, draws large crowds, celebrating the victory of Murugan over the demon Surapadman.
