Tiki culture
Tiki culture emerged in the United States during the mid-20th century, inspired by the art, mythology, and aesthetics of the South Pacific. It became popular through themed bars and restaurants, such as Trader Vic's and Don the Beachcomber, which offered exotic cocktails and tropical decor.
The movement also influenced home decor, fashion, and music, with tiki parties featuring tiki mugs, bamboo furniture, and island-inspired tunes. Tiki culture celebrates a romanticized version of Polynesian life, often incorporating elements like tiki carvings and Hawaiian shirts, creating a unique blend of escapism and nostalgia.
