Thyroid Tumors
Thyroid tumors are abnormal growths in the thyroid gland, which is located in the front of the neck. These tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Common types include papillary thyroid carcinoma, follicular thyroid carcinoma, and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Symptoms may include a noticeable lump in the neck, difficulty swallowing, or changes in voice.
Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests like ultrasound and a biopsy to determine the nature of the tumor. Treatment options vary based on the type and stage of the tumor and may include surgery, radioactive iodine therapy, or hormone therapy. Regular monitoring is essential for managing thyroid tumors.
