Thunderclouds
Thunderclouds, also known as cumulonimbus clouds, are large, towering clouds associated with thunderstorms. They form when warm, moist air rises rapidly, creating strong updrafts. As the air cools, water vapor condenses, leading to the development of these dense clouds, which can reach heights of over 12 kilometers (7.5 miles).
These clouds are characterized by their dark appearance and anvil-shaped tops. Thunderclouds can produce severe weather, including heavy rain, lightning, hail, and tornadoes. The presence of thunder and lightning indicates the intense energy within these clouds, making them a significant feature of stormy weather.
