Thrums
Thrums are the short, loose threads that remain after weaving fabric, often found at the edges of woven items. They can be seen in textiles made on a loom, where the ends of the yarn may not be fully integrated into the fabric. Thrums can add texture and character to the finished product, but they may also require trimming for a neater appearance.
In some crafting traditions, such as those involving handweaving or rug making, thrums can be repurposed. Crafters may use them to create fringe, embellishments, or even new yarns, making thrums a valuable resource in textile arts.
