Throwing Muses
Throwing Muses is an American alternative rock band formed in 1981 in Newport, Rhode Island. The group is known for its unique sound, blending elements of punk rock and folk music. The original lineup included lead vocalist and guitarist Kristin Hersch, bassist Bernie Orenstein, and drummer David Narcizo.
The band gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, particularly with their self-titled debut album and the follow-up, "House Tornado." Their music often features introspective lyrics and complex melodies, earning them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim within the indie rock scene.
