Three Rivers Stadium
Three Rivers Stadium was a multi-purpose sports venue located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Opened in 1970, it served as the home for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL and the Pittsburgh Pirates of MLB. The stadium was known for its distinctive design and was one of the first to feature a natural grass playing surface.
The stadium hosted numerous significant events, including the Super Bowl and the World Series. It was closed in 2000 and subsequently demolished in 2001, making way for the new Heinz Field and PNC Park, which now serve as the homes for the Steelers and Pirates, respectively.
