Three Jewels
The "Three Jewels" in Buddhism, also known as the "Three Refuges," are essential elements that practitioners take refuge in for guidance and support. They consist of the Buddha, who represents the enlightened one; the Dharma, which refers to the teachings and laws of Buddhism; and the Sangha, the community of monks, nuns, and laypeople who follow these teachings.
Taking refuge in the Three Jewels is a fundamental practice for Buddhists, symbolizing a commitment to the path of enlightenment. By relying on the Buddha for inspiration, the Dharma for wisdom, and the Sangha for support, practitioners cultivate a deeper understanding of their spiritual journey.
