Three Imperial Regalia
The "Three Imperial Regalia" of Japan are essential symbols of the emperor's authority and legitimacy. They consist of the Imperial Sword, the Imperial Jewel, and the Imperial Mirror. Each item represents different aspects of the emperor's role and the divine nature of the monarchy.
The Imperial Sword, known as Kusanagi, symbolizes valor; the Imperial Jewel, or Yasakani no Magatama, represents benevolence; and the Imperial Mirror, called Yata no Kagami, signifies wisdom. Together, these regalia are integral to the enthronement ceremonies and the cultural heritage of Japan.
