Three 6 Mafia
Three 6 Mafia is an American hip-hop group formed in 1991 in Memphis, Tennessee. The group originally consisted of members DJ Paul, Juicy J, Crunchy Black, Lord Infamous, and Gangsta Boo. They are known for their unique style that blends Southern hip-hop with horrorcore themes, often featuring dark, gritty lyrics and heavy beats.
The group gained mainstream success in the early 2000s, winning an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2006 for their track "It's Hard out Here for a Pimp" from the film Hustle & Flow. Three 6 Mafia has influenced many artists in the hip-hop genre and remains a significant part of Southern rap history.
