Theatrical Intermission
A theatrical intermission is a scheduled break during a live performance, such as a play or musical. It typically occurs after the first act and before the second act, allowing the audience to stretch, use restrooms, and refresh themselves. Intermissions can last anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the production.
During the intermission, theater staff may sell snacks and drinks, enhancing the overall experience. This break also gives performers a chance to rest and prepare for the next part of the show. Intermissions are common in many forms of live entertainment, including opera and ballet.
