Theatre of Tirana
Theatre of Tirana, officially known as the National Theatre of Albania, is a prominent cultural institution located in Tirana, the capital city of Albania. Established in 1945, it serves as a venue for various theatrical performances, including plays, operas, and ballets. The theatre has played a significant role in promoting Albanian arts and culture.
In 2020, the original building faced controversy and was demolished, sparking public protests. A new theatre is planned to be constructed on the same site, aiming to modernize the facilities while preserving the cultural heritage of the National Theatre. The theatre continues to be a focal point for artistic expression in the region.
