Theater Formats
Theater formats refer to the various styles and structures used in live performances. Common formats include proscenium, where the audience faces the stage directly, and thrust, which extends into the audience on three sides. Other formats include in-the-round, where the stage is surrounded by the audience, and black box, a flexible space that can be adapted for different productions.
Each format influences how a story is told and how the audience experiences the performance. For example, proscenium stages often use elaborate sets and lighting, while in-the-round formats encourage more intimate interactions between actors and viewers.
