The World Islands
The World Islands is an artificial archipelago located off the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It consists of 300 small islands designed to resemble a world map when viewed from above. The project was initiated in 2003 and aimed to create a unique tourist destination and residential area.
Each island represents a different country or region, with some islands developed for luxury hotels and private residences. The construction faced challenges, including environmental concerns and financial issues, leading to delays. Despite these setbacks, The World Islands remains a notable example of ambitious engineering and urban development.
