The Voidoids
The Voidoids were an American punk rock band formed in 1976 in New York City. They are known for their energetic sound and influential role in the punk scene, particularly in the CBGB club, which was a hub for punk music. The band's lineup included singer Richard Hell, guitarist Ivan Julian, bassist Fred Smith, and drummer Marc Bell.
Their debut album, "Blank Generation," released in 1977, featured a mix of raw guitar riffs and poetic lyrics. The Voidoids' music often explored themes of alienation and disconnection, making them a significant part of the New York punk movement. Their style and attitude have inspired many artists in the punk and alternative rock genres.
