The Vaselines
The Vaselines are a Scottish indie pop band formed in 1986 in Glasgow. The group consists of members Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee, known for their catchy melodies and playful lyrics. They gained a cult following in the late 1980s and early 1990s, particularly after being covered by Nirvana, which helped introduce their music to a wider audience.
The band's debut album, "Dum-Dum," was released in 1989, featuring songs that blend elements of punk and pop. Although they disbanded in 1990, The Vaselines reunited in 2008, continuing to perform and release new music, maintaining their influence in the indie music scene.
