The Stylistics
The Stylistics is an American soul and R&B group formed in 1968 in Philadelphia. Known for their smooth harmonies and romantic ballads, they gained popularity in the 1970s with hits like "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "Betcha by Golly, Wow." Their music often features lush arrangements and heartfelt lyrics, making them a staple of the Philadelphia soul sound.
The group originally consisted of lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr. and several other members, including Herbert "Herb" Murrell and James Smith. They were produced by the renowned Thom Bell, who played a significant role in shaping their signature sound. The Stylistics continue to perform and influence new generations of artists.
