The Skids
The Skids are a Scottish punk rock band formed in 1977 in Dunfermline. Known for their energetic sound and socially conscious lyrics, they gained popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their music blends elements of punk, new wave, and post-punk, with notable tracks like "Into the Valley" and "The Saints Are Coming."
The band's original lineup included Richard Jobson as the lead vocalist, Stuart Adamson on guitar, and Bill Simpson on bass. After several lineup changes and a hiatus, The Skids reunited in 2007 and continue to perform, maintaining a loyal fan base and contributing to the punk rock scene.
