The Pixies
The Pixies are an American alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. The original lineup includes Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal, and David Lovering. They are known for their unique sound that blends elements of punk rock, surf rock, and noise pop, characterized by dynamic shifts between quiet verses and loud choruses.
The band gained significant popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, influencing many artists in the grunge and indie rock scenes. Their most notable albums include Surfer Rosa and Doolittle, which feature iconic tracks like "Where Is My Mind?" and "Debaser." The Pixies disbanded in 1993 but reunited in 2004, continuing to tour and release new music.
